Get some spice and make it nice!
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 onion, chopped,
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
2 cloves of garlic, minced or crushed
1 teasopoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups long-grain white rice
2 (14.5 oz) cans vegetable broth
1/3 cup water
1 bay leaf
2 green onions sliced (optional)
1)Heat oil in large heavy pan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and jalapenos. Saute until the onion is translucent.
2)Stir in turmeric and cinnamon until spices become very fragrant. Mix in rice and add vegetable broth, water, and bay leaf. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and cook 20 minutes
3)Turn off the heat and let sit for 5 minutes
4)Serve hot garnished with green onions if desired
