Okay so maybe this year won't be filled with as much running as I thought. After my last run on January 8, my knee got really stiff and swollen. I have been diagnosed with bursitis (an overuse injury) in my right knee. It's been swollen for...we're on week 3 now. It's not gotten a lot more swollen but it's become more painful. Walking hurts, sitting with my feet on the floor hurts, going up and down stairs hurts, and driving with a bent knee REALLY REALLY hurts. Even standing for very long and sleeping are uncomfortable. I have an appointment with an orthopedic doctor next Thursday to see if he can fix me. I'm seriously about to go crazy. I have tried to limit my going up and down stairs, but I live on the second floor and I have to do things like go to work, take out the trash, get groceries, walk my dog. You really take for granted how awesome working knees are until you are in a GAP and kinda bouncing to music in the store and it hurts. In fact this injury has basically ruined my life. My family doesn't even want to talk to me anymore because all I do is whine about not being able to do anything. John would probably be tired of it as well if I talked to him much. As it is, I only talk to him occasionally, and again, I pretty much just whine about my stupid knee.
What I HAVE done is drink a lot of coffee and apple cider from my Keurig. I also got stools to go with the table I put together before the knee incident. And I made some awesome salmon with grapefruit-shallot sauce before the knee incident. I tried to make a salmon and bean salad with leftovers but the beans were too hard when they were cold. Also the radicchio in the salad was way too bitter. I don't think I like radicchio. Anyway, the next dish up is roast chicken and citrus jam when I can get to it.
